Birds of the Wetlands by Ron Sentell
The LeConte Photographic Society will host a photo program by Ron Sentell of Knoxville on Saturday, August 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the King Library in Sevierville. He will give a slideshow of his photographs of Birds of the Wetlands. This presentation is open and free to the public. His images include birds courting, nesting, playing, fishing, flying, learning, and just hanging out together. These pictures were taken over the past six years at two locations in east Tennessee and eight locations in Florida. His slideshow includes bird calls from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Maccaulay Library imbedded in each slide. Come and enjoy the sights and sounds; ask questions about where, what, and how; and start planning a future trip to photograph or just observe these wonderful birds of the wetlands.
Ron’s interest in photography began as photographer for his high school annual and continues after his retirement as an engineer and scientist. Since retirement in 2010, he has studied the history, technique, and art of photography at the University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State Community College. Ron is active in several camera clubs and in sharing his images at nursing homes, senior centers, veteran homes, community centers, and homeless shelters.
